Fall Adult Education Classes:

Crown Jewel Chapters of the Epistles (Facilitated by David Elton)

The letters of the New Testament may not be as attention-grabbing as passages in the four Gospels, but they all pack theological punches, and then some!  Within each letter are key chapters that are especially rich in theological and practical teachings that have been vital and revitalizing for the Christian faith and churches of all traditions.  Each Sunday we will read and discuss a chapter from most of the New Testament Letters.  Come and learn more about some of the most influential chapters of the Epistles.

Holy Envy (Facilitated by Alison Watkins)

Barbara Brown Taylor, the renowned and beloved New York Times bestselling author of An Altar in the World and Learning to Walk in the Dark recounts her moving discoveries of finding the sacred in unexpected places while teaching the world’s religions to undergraduates in rural Georgia, revealing how God delights in confounding our expectations. Come take a look at your own faith through the lens of another and see how it complements and challenges your view of God, creation and others.

The Fellowship of the Ring (Facilitated by Kara Windler)

Kara Windler will be walking her class through J.R.R. Tolkien's beloved classic, The Fellowship of the Ring. It is of't said that there is a truth to be found in fiction that runs deeper than the facts of our daily lives. This class will explore the first book of The Lord of the Rings in depth wilst also taking a look around at Tolkien's wider legendarium. Whether this is your first time encountering Tolkien's work or your eleventy-first, all are welcome!
